My kids both go to the American School of Doha - one in middle school and one in high school and they both are very happy there.  We moved here last summer and they started in the fall.  They both made friends quickly and are involved in a lot of school activities.

Alexa is right about the Villagio Mall area.  It is fairly close to ASD and there are many nice compounds in the area.  We live in this area and while it is a bit of a drive to downtown Doha when traffic is heavy, it is convenient to many other things such as grocery stores, the mall, ASD, etc.
