Sorry to say it, and it's in no way meant as a racist comment, but that's who drives the worst in Doha.
On a global level, women are statistically less likely to have an RTA than men, which some researches put down to the fact that on the whole, women are less aggressive than men behind the wheel of a car, and don't tend to develop the macho persona that bedevils many a young lad when he has something powerful to control.
Another fact: India has more deaths per head of population from RTA's than any other country in the world, yet companies here continually employ Indian drivers.
Locals feel that any accident involving a non-Qatari must be the other person's fault - I have actually heard a Qatari say "if you weren't in my country, you wouldn't have been on this road, so the accident would never have happened".
This leads into one of my favourite gripes about Qatar: the law is only applied to non-Qataris. If it was applied actross the board, we would see a change in the driving habits of locals.
That's enough from me, before I get into trouble again.
