"3sure-hunk3r" Qatar is a very small country in an area dominated by Saudi, Iraq & UAE. After explaining the location over and over again...it's just easier to say "near Dubai!" I'm sorry but internationally, especially in the west....Qatar really is unknown! Do you know where Wales is? hint...it's "near england!" lol ;)
"Oryx" Look i really don't think the IOC will award the Olympics to a country with just a population of one million. Are the Asian Games really that big of a deal? The World Cup will never come to Doha, there is no way they would move it to october.
Look if Doha continues to grow and the locals continue to travel and in time there attitude changes...then i'm sure they will be shortlisted. Like a lot of things in Doha, Qatar is rushing things.
