Ensure that you issue a formal letter noting the mistake in your position. Advise that you have been verbally requesting for x number of weeks/days to have the mistake rectified.
Also go on to explain that you wish for the rectification to be made for the following reasons-:
1. To have an acutal true position recorded for formal purposes representing the actual position of yoursel in Qatar.
2. To ensure that no future problems incur as a result of having the wrong profession recorded as part of your formal and work permit status.
3. Preference to have your profession accurately and formally correct.
Request for a return response in writing on when the process shall be carried out to rectify the mistake.
If they fail to revert within a week, issue a reminder letter.
As you do not expect an NOC, then you have two choices if they continue to ignore rectifiying your professional status-:
1. To resign and leave town giving the reason for your resignation.
2. Taking the matter up with the Qatar Labour office supplying proof of professional status mistake and request letters to alter for them to give advice on the matter.
The latter may upset your employer though so you will have to think about the pros and cons of each option.
Alternatively, if you have not done so already, appeal to higher management if you are only dealing with the matter via the HR dept or via middle management.
If you decide to go down the labour office route, then I would suggest that you issue a letter to your employer stating that their failure to acknowledge and/or start processing the mistake is forcing you to take this matter up with the labour office given the importance of a proper and accurate record of your actual professional status.
