I have read the 1st couple of chapters of that book. To be totally honest, to me it seems as if the following happened:
1. Take standard religion.
2. Cut out all the questionable parts (creationism for example).
3. Replace with more acceptable theories (like evolution).
4. Replace prophets, saints etc with spirits.
5. Add reincarnation.
6. Reinforce the fact that we are too stupid to understand god.
I know this IS a snap judgment and I will need more time to red and assimilate the whole book.
