I didn't see anywhere that anyone told you where Modern Home is...there are a couple of Modern Home outlets, the largest being next to Jarir bookstore on Salwa Road at the Ramada intersection (on the right side of the road going away from the Corniche, just after you cross the intersection). There is also a Modern Home in City Center Mall. Coffee is indeed quite expensive here. I do not have the money for a good espresso machine here (we have one in storage in the States), so I am making do with a stovetop for now, but I agree that Illy is the best I have found here (but be prepared to pay QR 45 per can).
