To all my QL fellows, if you are an atheist, i agree religion should not be discussed here. But if you are a believing person, i would disagree that religion is irrelevant here. I think religion is deeply rooted in human psyche, plays an important role in determining people’s mindsets and affecting their beliefs which form their attitudes. Islam in particular is a complete way of life for many.

You waited a long time. it was one of those rare moments when i could not help reacting to the comment ‘men are superior to women’. what i said was my own take on the matter. neither do i expect you to like it, nor do i wish that you agree with it. I do not want to begin a philosophical discussion on ‘women’s status in islam’ here.

Kareena, I have a close Pakistani friend who is a phd in astrophysics from MIT, works full time and has a child. She married a Pakistani guy before they went to states and he helped her at every stage for 7 long years and now is very proud of her.
