I was on a QA flight a while back to Dubai and we were delayed by over ONE HOUR because two local women were in the bulkhead seats which had been allocated to a young couple with a baby. They steadfastly refused to move, even though it's only a 40 minute flight and they were in the WRONG seats. The cabin crew were faultless in their dealing with the situation and showed so much patience when dealing with these rude and ignorant women. Personally, I would have punched them!! It escalated to the point where they demanded that the check-in clerk from the departures lounge be called to the aircraft to explain why he had booked the family in these seats and not them. Come on!!!! It's only a short flight - in the time they spent arguing about this, we could already have landed in Dubai! The Captain (who after all in in total charge of the aircraft) should have stepped in and told them in no uncertain terms to move.
I recall reading about an incident on a British Airways flight a couple of years ago, (widely reported in the British Press)when female members of the Qatari ruling family refused to sit in their seats because there were some men in the adjoining seats. After many hours when they refused to see sense, the Captain had them removed from his aircraft. Bravo! These people are so inconsiderate - they don't think that their actions would have affected so many other travellers causing them to miss connecting flights, important family occasions, etc.
