The cloth stiffener must just be for a launderette.
I heard a few years back, some people collected this gum together they were getting as change from Qmart, and went back with this stash to try to pay for their items with - saying, if it's good enough to give to us as money, then it's good enough to pay with ... No idea what the outcome of it was though - would v much like to know!
