My advice is dont worry too much about residing close to your office. Although traffic can be slow at peak hours, and unless you are the type who cusses at bad drivers around you, the good thing is you get to spend some time all by yourself in the car without wife, kids, boss, colleagues to answer to.

Besides, fuel prices are no where like in the UK. Its dirt cheap!
