QAWS is full at the moment so can't take the dog in though we have checked our records and he's not one that's been reported missing to us.

Does anybody have a garden he can stay in for a few days whilst a solution is found for him?

FYI:

- the Ministry trap, neuter & return cats. If cat's are being rounded up and destroyed then that's a private pest control company - not the Ministry.

- the Police do collect up dogs and put them to sleep as there are no holding facilities for stray dogs. Pet owners MUST have some form of identification - whether it be a tag with a phone number or a microchip.

- Dogs are not allowed in public areas, which includes the Corniche, the Parks, Malls etc and this should be respected at all times. This is well known and in-keeping with the local culture. One irresponsible dog owner can make life difficult for all dog owners in Qatar.

- Microchipping your pet is not enough - pet owners MUST register the chip for it to be of any use! The Ministry here have a microchip database and it is recommended that animals are registered there. A microchip does not store owner's information in it so if you have not registered your pet with a microchip database then the microchip is useless.
