Yes, I am very sensitive to the issue. I personally think they are completely unnecessary anywhere, but I respect the right of women to choose to wear them, just like I respect a woman's right go topless. But when either makes an imposition on the cultural norms of a society, I oppose it--i.e. veils in France and going topless at a Qatar beach.
I am just glad to see that Australians are being sensible on this after that thread awhile back with woman abusing the police officer and making false claims.
