i have tried quiting many times over the last 10 years. not an easy job to do. specially if you are surrounded by smokers in your social circle.
about 2 years ago i came up with a solution for myself, control smoking and control the quality of the smoke. over time it helped me to take a break every now and then (rather than calling it quitting, i take a break).
the practice was not easy,
first: i had to change the brand many times to find lower nicotine and nice flavour till i got the current brand.
Second: i strat not finishing my cig to the end, i currently i smoke have to 2/3 of the cig max. even if i feel i need to smoke more, i light another one and smoke it to the same limit max.
it might looks silly, but it works for me.
the worst part of the cig is the last third, as it works as filter before your reach to it, and it contains the highest contents of the cig.
....
i might still consume 1 pack, but i cut my smoking to 1/2 :)
