In 2003 I moved away from QNB to HSBC. QNB was very poor in customer service, they were poor communicators back then. The first 2 years I was with HSBC was great, the service was pro-active.
Then the original professional staff started disappearing, replaced by people who don't know how to communicate with the customer. Customer service went from excellent to terrible. Posting errors keep affecting my account, disrupting my finances.
From since 3 weeks back I have been chasing a missing QR3,000 from my account and I verified that they deducted a car loan twice in the same month. I never availed of any deferment of payment for any loan. A bank officer told me there was a system error sometime just before Eid Al-Adha, and I was not the only customer affected. She assured me all shall be corrected in 1 or 2 days. After 2 days I called her and she said she was "busy". 1 week later I went to see her again and tells me she was "busy". So I went to the branch manager's office who told me it will be resolved in 1 to 2 days. Another week passed - nothing was done.
Therefore I advise those still choosing a bank to stay away from HSBC.
And those who are still HSBC customers to regularly scrutinize your account to see if anything is missing.
I am moving away from HSBC and taking my business somewhere else.
