In recent times QA have completely lost the plot as far as pricing to destinations East and West is concerned - consequently I personally have chosen to stop using them - hubbing thru Bahrain (Gulf) or the Emirates (2 carriers) saves a considerable amount of money for very little time travelling penalty. Gone are the days where I would rather pay the QA price and avoid the inconvenience of a tx - now it makes financial sense to do the transit. When I'm planning a flight these days, my first port of call is Expedia or Opodo as opposed to QA on line. The fact that sanctions have been imposed against Emirates indicates the QA is running scared - its that insecurity thing again!!
