ok .
I know there are many private hospitals in Doha and quite frankly, I have only used Doha clinic .
I have always gone to my local clinic and Hamad hospital, Rumailah womens hospital and AL Khor hospital on numerous occasions and each time ( even though I have had to wait sometimes up to 1 hour (
when I didnt get there early) I have had wonderful care with brilliant Doctors.
Also I know that the Hamad medical corporation is funded by the government and money is no object. Yes ! It is a teaching hospital and there are many students, but they have to learn some where. Having had two major operations in Hamad hospital and various test requiring anesthetic, I am amazed at the care and attention of all involved.
I would much rather the hospitals here than in the UK , where you are only given tests or operations depending on your age, even though these tests and teatments could save your life.
I cannot comment on private hospitals here though I know the Alali private hospital ( as far as I know has a good repiutation), but one thing you have to bear in mind is they are a profit organization and therefore, need to show a good profit at the end of the year.
Doha clinic , I have used in the past and I found their care ( for a fee) very good.
If you must go private, go to the two hospitals I mentioned, but personnaly, as a British expat, I fully recomend the care and treatment from the Hamad medical corparation.
