Sorry - brief hijack of thread for Wakra beach.... thanks marycatherine.... I wondered if it was just high tide or if the government's warnings were actually true. It just seemed odd that we have come at around the same time for a few months now and have never seen the water like that. Maybe it was a spring tide. I must admit I have never checked the tide tables. Anyway - I have always enjoyed Wakra beach - never seen any dog poop (perhaps I have been lucky) and the water has always been nice and clear in my experience. I won't give up on it then - very glad - it is one of my small pleasures of Doha life! Interesting about the development planned there mimiloves2sing - they should do more in Wakra. Personally, I'm not a fan of Sealine. Busy, jellyfish, expensive. Not my kind of beach :)
