The fact that it is sooooo amazing that a few locals helped someone in distress should tell us something that is lacking in Qatar. It's like a thread a while back praising a local for saying "sorry" when he bumped into a worker. If some Indians did this, would it merit its own special thread waxing so lovingly about Indian culture?
Assistance such as this should be expected in any civilized country; it's a basic standard of humanity. I would readily give it to others, and I expect it in return (with gratitude).
