I have said it before also here not to allow trailers, trucks, cranes etc etc during peak hours and some real traffic control. Inspite of it being covered in GT some days back, still people turn left from the straight going lanes on signals or blocking the straight going lanes as they want to turn. In Abu Dhabi if you cannot get into the lane you intend to keep driving till the next U trun and come back but you arent supposed to be blocking the lanes. But in a country where picking up grocery, icecream, coke can, etc etc or getting down from the cars right in front of the shop/mall doors blocking the traffic is so normal, getting things streamlined seems to be a distant dream. Current traffic snarls are also due to various construction work going around, but that should be acceptable.
