you can go anywhere there if using your own car.. i was there this last April and went to Jeddah and also round alot with own car.. so No Issue but Take enough food from Qatar for the way as there is no any good restorant on the way before Riyad, only in Riyad and then from Riyad to makkah also take food on the way from riyad..
