The only exit permit u need from Bahrain is to get visa cancelled stamp on your passport which is your employer has to do. Don't be scared, tell him you decided to go home tell him to cancel ur visa on passport stamp and ask for the money or take the tickets back home. Once he cancels ur visa u will get passportback and can easily exit Bahrain its your choice fly to qatar ( you need qatar visa) or go back home with free ticket from employer and spend there time before you deparrt to Qatar. U need a break man. Money is not important in life if you are starting runing after it u will lose ur self, don't get affended my friend, i was exactly same situation in Bahrain, i choose to go back home for 2 weeks it made allot difference now I am happy to be in Qatar.
