Any ceiling on maximum no. of finger printing

I need to undergo finger printing for 3rd time. I am not sure about the problem.

But is there any ceiling on maximum no. of fingerprinting? In case this is not successful thru their scanning machines, Is there any other alternative like manual ink prints (good old way)?

No I have never done it earlier so this is my first time.

My question still remains open. Is there any ceiling on fingerprinting attempts? What is the implication ? Do they go to manual method or what?
