MY work visa is getting over in next month and my sponsor will start for the work permit.

How long does it take to get the work permit/residential permit. In case if my business visa is over and i do not get the work permit/Residential permit,do i need to leave the country.

Also pls let me know that if i have i been able to get the work permit then do i need to exit the country for once to get the immigration stamp on it.

Does the work permit also need you to exit the country for once and re enter to bring it into effect.

my friend, here is what i know:

- normally it takes a month to two months to complete all rp formalities. the time frame depends on the urgency and efficiency of the co and pro.

- if your present sponsor and work visa sponsor are the same, then you dont need to exit country. but if they are different, you may have to exit and re-enter. normally for this companies send you to Bahrain.

- once rp processing starts, you cannot exit country until its completed. companies can get excemption on your stay based on the reason that it is in process.

- so normally companies start processing rp after making sure you can get it stamped before your present visa expires.

if your company has not commenced rp work yet, i guess they intend to do one more exit-entry for you. better keep following up with your pro. some guys "expects" :-)you to pester them always to get things done.

good luck. hope this helps.

I have got the last extension valid till first week of may but RP is not initiated. Its hardly 35 days left for the last date till i can stay on business visa . will i be able to get the RP in this time if sponsor initiate it.

Also do i need to go out of country for once if RP is there to bring it into effect.

Your residency permit - RP - will take about a month. Your sponsor should take care of all the deadlines, fees, etc. I'm not sure how many times you have been renewed or can renew, your sponsor will seek to renew your present visa rather than sending you out on a "visa run."
