Business VISA to Resdence Permit
Hi, I have been seeing lot of useful tips from the web site from last 4 months, I have a query if somebody can advise me on.
I have got a job offer from company based in Doha and pay per month is 13750 QR (all Inclusive). I have accepted the offer and sent my acceptance letter and my degree certificate. I was told that I will have my Visa in 4 weeks and then I can resign my current job. I got my VISA in 3 weeks which says "BUSINESS VISIT VISA One Visit " valid for 1 Month.
My employer says they will convert this Residence VISA once I am there in Doha. It is the normal process.
My question is
1. Can I convert my "BUSINESS VISIT VISA One Visit" to Residence VISA in one month and what is the process.
2. I am a Bachelor and in 13750 QR how much can I save after my expense with decent life style?
3. What could be the current approx prevailing rent which I can get a decent single bed room Apartment ?
4. Renting a CAR or Purchasing a CAR is good option ( I know without car we cannot move around) ?

Business Visa can be converted to a working Visa by your new Company.
From the expenses and the current living cost here, estimatedly, you can save at around QR 6,000.00 to QR 7,000.00 depending on your lifestyle. You can arrange for a Car with the help of your Sponsor.

fapmg, as Mandi said, it's not a problem to convert business Visa into Work Visa and later based on this Work visa to issue a Residence Permit for you, which as Mandi said takes aprox. 4 weeks. Business visa is just the way for you to enter Qatar.
For studio you would have to pay around QR5000...1 BR appartment is about QR 5500-8000 depends on quality and area.. not too fancy car is about 2000 a month(monthly payment +insurance+ gaz). Food + other home exp. is about 2000-2500... the rest is up to you how to spend(or save) it...

Your employer will convert your business visa to an RP. You will have to take the medical exam and the process is about 4 weeks in duration. It is the standard procedure. Your savings will depend on your spending habits!
