Can I sponsor my mother-in-law on visit visa
Hi all, I and my wife came to Doha a week ago. I am Australian passport holder and my wife holds Pakistani passport. My company has booked me for medical test for resident permit by 1st week of March 2011. After medicals (what I have heard), that resident permit for me will take another 7 to 10 days. Therefore, I am expecting to get my resident permit by 20th March 2011. After that, I'll be sponsoring my wife for her resident permit. Hopefully my wife will get her resident permit relatively quickly than me as there is smaller queue for medicals for ladies as compared to men (this is what is told to me by my company's HR manager who is arranging my resident permit). So we are hoping she can get resident permit by end of April 2011.
My wife is currently pregnant and we are expecting our 1st kid by Mid-June 2011. Therefore, I will like to have my mother-in-law here in Qatar with us from around Mid-May for around 3 months time.
I wish to know if someone can please tell me that once I get resident permit by Mid-March, can I (not my wife) sponsor my mother-in-law to come to Qatar on a family visit visa? Can only my wife sponsor her mother once she gets her resident permit? I am afraid that might be too late by the time my wife gets her resident permit.
How long it takes to get family visit visa from the time of application, considering my mother-in-law is Pakistani passport holder?
Should I better send my wife to Pakistan for baby delivery or have it in Qatar at Hamad Hospital? It will be very expensive for me to have baby delivery at Qatar's private hospitals, but I can easily afford the best private hospitals in Pakistan (although the security situation in Pakistan worries me a lot).
Thanks in anticipation.
hi, were you able to sponsor your mother-in-law? we're also in the same situation. im pregnant - not working.. and so im wondering if my husband can sponsor my mom's visa..Thanks.
Birth certificate is required to confirm the relationship of your wife with her mother.
AussiePaki, is this your first born? If so, it'l be best to have your wife give birth here in Qatar, with you. Should your company provides insurance, then your wife's delivery will be covered. If not, Hamad is very damn good hospital & inexpensive ;)
You can sponsor your mother in law, but your wife need to have her Residence Permit.
Another thing, although not that sure, is that the Ministry usually require you to submit atleast a 3 month bank statement as well besides the passport & RP copies. Check with your HR.
Good luck & welcome!
MinHajJ Why Wifs Birth Certificate?
As per my knowledge Copy of Wife RP + Copy of Hus/Your RP + NOC from Sponsor + Passport Copy of Mother in Law are enough
As far as I know, your mother in law can only come once your wife's RP is done. Cuz wen u apply for your mother in law visa u have to submit your wife's RP copy and her birth certificate.
Having said that, you should give it a try anyways through your HR. They have contacts in Immigration and can make it much easier for you to get the visa.
Please note that her age should be less than 60, otherwise you will personally have to go to the immigration department and apply for the visa.
Best of Luck !!
