I have received a work permit and shortly going to enter Qatar in Aug. However, I am told that I must get a Police Clearance Certificate from India. What I would like to know is -
Do we get this certificate from our nearest Police Station in India ?
Do we have to then attest the certificate from Qatar Embassy in India?
and lastly does my wife require a certificate too..
We are from UAE and have passports issued from Dubai, I am still wondering if the Consulates in UAE could issue such documents since we resided in UAE for more than 10 years. Appreciate a response.

He he hee.. I see another blinking face after long time...

Well... I was in you situation long back on this issue.

Just visit Dubai police website and apply for Police clearance certificate (you need to pay 200 Dhs. I guess), then within 3 days they might call you for finger printing (This will be in Gusasis HQ building), from their on within 2 days you might get police clerance certificate for Dubai tenure.

Now If you have time apply for police clearance (India) in the indian embassy in Dubai. They will take your passport and 10 days from their on to issue the certificate. If you dont have enough time, then travel to India to your regional passport office and Pay 100 INR morning, evening you will get Police Clearance certificate for Indian Tenure.

All The Best,

To my knowledge we should take PCC from whereever we have been residing for the last 3 years period. So, you better approach Indian Embassy in Dubai. They will issue PCC for you as well as for your wife against some nominal payment. I took last year PCC from Indian Embassy @ Doha, they charged me QR. 75.00 and took 2 days time for the issuance.
