Change of Sponsorship for new arrivals

I came to Qatar with a work visa issued by a retail company. Before arriving I had also applied for a position at QatarFoundation. About 3 weeks into my retail job, I was called for an interview with Qatar Foundation (QF) , and later was offered a position of an IT consultant. I arrived on May 29, and since then had only done my medical, and didn't complete RP process with my employer; who was also kind enough to give me NOC to complete QF application.

In Sept, I submitted all particulars with QF HR and I was told to wait 1-2 months.

Last week I paid a fine to labor dept for not stamping an RP within the first 3 months of my arrival. Does this mean my previous visa is canceled and a new visa issued? QF submitted my papers to labor in Sept. It's over 2 months now, and I am getting a lil anxious.

Can someone explain what happens to my case? Will I get a new visa issued or will my visa be simply transferred? how does the process work?

I am told since I haven't completed any RP since arriving, the labor depart normally would issue new visa. Is this correct? What could happen after paying the fine. Are there problems or issues I need to know at this time ? Please help. Thanks

First, since your RP was not issued under your first ‘sponsor', you didn’t need to get a NOC from him... so by “giving you a NOC”, he is either playing “being nice” or he is not aware of Qatari laws whatsoever...

Anyway.. what happens is your Work visa with your previous sponsor has been cancelled (must be cancelled, check it with your previous sponsor if he cancelled it!). The new work visa should be issued by QF under their sponsorship, and then you may proceed with your RP. Where at which point it has stopped, i am not sure. Either the old company didn’t cancel your work visa, or the PRO of your new company is incompetent, or he is just lazy and postpones your RP with no reason... Check with your PRO what’s going on, and at which point the process has stopped...
