use that time to earn the QAR6,000 so you could get your passport back.

The 1,200.00 is the fee to transfer your sponsorship to another company...but usually, this fee is covered/paied by your new employer.

when I was in a similar situation last year, I had to cough up QAR27,520.00 for the passport, expired visa penalty, renewal, etc. And I'm still paying it every month for another year or two...

So, be strong...pray and work hard...

That is why your sponsor or that company got blocklisted by the Immigration.

If my guess is right, your sponsor's place was inspected/raided by the police and all passports in the premises were confiscated...including yours and and you friend's passport.

The QAR6,000 is for the mandoop to pay the penalty fee and get your passport from CEID.

With regards to your expired visa, you still have 90 days from the date of expiration as the grace period to renew it.
