Credit card payment for visa-upon-arrival
Hi,
1.
I was told the tourist visa issued upon arrival at the Doha airport can only be paid for by credit card. I do not have a credit card.
A friend might borrow me his credit card.
At the airport/immigration do they just swipe the card ? Or do they print out a receipt, then you sign it, then they check your signature and that the name on the card match the name in the passport ?
What is the payment process ?
2.
So I've also heard that there could be some way to pay by cash: apparently there exists a machine that takes cash and issues a voucher, or there is a bank in the arrivals hall that issues a voucher for cash. The voucher can then be used at immigration in place of a credit card.
Can somebody confirm or deny this ?

Thanks for any help.

when i was on a tourist visa they just swiped and i never had to sign the credit card slip. but that doesn't mean its safe for you to use someone else's credit card. i'm sure they would check the name on the card. why dont you get a visa debit card from your bank. this is just as good as a credit card. (not visa electron though). i dont know about the voucher system. i know they have it in other countries around here but not sure about doha. there's not much in the arrivals hall before you get to the immigration counter.
