Does anyone know where and how to obtain a certified cheque?

I need to pay for a service at the US Embassy and they won't take any other form of payment besides money order. I understand that in Qatar they don't deal with money orders like we do in the States. So, I was informed that I can pay via certified cheque. I have an account with QIB; however, it's just a savings account!

How do we get the notified cheque from bank? what is the formalities?

Hi,the bank you have an account with can issue you a certified cheque.By doing so the bank certifies two things that they have kept the money under lien to cover the cheque amount and secondly your signature are verified.Hope it answers your query.

It is also known as Bank Draft. Any bank can issue you the draft enven if you dont have account with them. They will need your ID copy.
