Dubai Visa and Qatar Resident Permit validity screw up...

I had bought tickets from Fly Dubai to Doha-Dubai-Doha for Thursday nite and back Sunday early morning, which i have done 3 times in da last year. The twist is this time when i went to the Fly Dubai counter i was denied flying as my RP is vald for 56 days. They said as per Dubai Terminal 2 law your RP (resident permit) has to be more than 3 months to fly and go to Dubai... or else Dubai govn. will charge us 5000 Riyals fine. I get on arrival visa to any GCC. I checked all the concerned websites after i couldn't fly and none of them said any visa regulations.

The question here is that has anyone experienced the same? I lost the money so be it. but who knows the real visa policy...

I hope like Dubizzle... Qatar Living users have the answers too...

thanks

check ths one: http://www.qatarliving.com/node/1236810.

and yes, there is such a rule, actually in any country. You are not allowed to travel if your passport (or residence permit) is valid for less than 3 months (sometimes less than 6 months). This is common sense.

Besides, ignorance of the law is no excuse, man :)

Ya there is such rule and budget airways are very strict with this. If its other airlines normally they call the immigration in UAE/Oman/Kuw/Bah etc and allow the passenger after receiving confirmation. For Oman/Kuwait/Bahrain the validity required is more than 6 months, I had recently experienced the same but when I argued they called Oman immigration and allowed me to check-in. What to do, different rules..
