I am going to visit Qatar. I got a hotel visa. But I read I want to show QR 5000 in emigration section. So some body give me an idea regarding this. Can I exchange Indian Rs in Qatar Air port...????

There have been some forged Qatar Riyal notes around in denominations of 500, 100 and even 50. Difficult to detect the forgery, except with advanced machines. It is possible that forged notes might have been circulated abroad, so I feel it is not safe to purchase QR outside Qatar. Better to bring in equivalent US$ from a reliable source, like a bank or authorized exchange company. Then you are sure you have the genuine stuff.
Dear, i know the policies very well and would recommend to bring US $ equalent to QR Riyals. Exchange applicable is 1US$ X 3.65QR Riyals. I know u wl now end up spending all and if u change ur IRS to QR, u will loose a lot with foreign exchange. So better bring US$ and take back what ever is unused.
You wont be able to exchange Rs to QR before crossing Immigration and you have to show cash on Immigration counter so better to bring from India. Also if you have a credit card / travelers check that can also work.

Always better to convert in India from Rs to QR. You will get approx. Rs. 12.30. Check in any bank or airport counters in India.
