I Just got married and wanted to apply for family visit visa. My wife still have her maiden surname on her passport, so if i apply with that passport for the visit visa and by the time of coming she changes her surname in the passport will this be a problem at Indian or Qatar Immigration?????????

@xfibre thanx for the info. with all due respect to you..

@engineer, you will have 'hell a lot' of problems with this issue both in India as well as here. Another serious issue will be if the Immigration system here registers her maiden name in the 1st attempt, then you will have to go through all the trouble of convincing them that she is the same individual with family name. Simple solution is make a notary affidavit and submit it with the marriage certificate to the local passport office and I think in a week or so that will stamp an endorsement mentioning this. Checkout for all the info. in a PSK website. 'Passport Seva Kendra'

There shouldn’t be any problem.

However, she has to take the following documents with her:

1. Attach the old passport that has her maiden name (with which the visit visa was applied) together with the new passport.

2. Original and copy of the Affidavit stating the changes in her name

3. Copy of the National newspaper where it was published that her name has changed from “good” to “better”

4. Copy of attested marriage certificate both in India and Qatar or original if possible.

5. Copy of her visit visa.

6. She should be ready to explain and exercise patient.

Though am not and Indian but I think there shouldn’t be any problem.
