Good day. I am presently holding a residence visa under husband sponsorship in Abu Dhabi. However, my husband will be moving to Qatar next month and our visas will be cancelled then. Can my sister already in Qatar for four months now apply a family visit visa for me? so that i need not go back to the Philippines.

and if it is possible for my sister to apply a visa for me, can that visa be transferred to Residence Permit under husband sponsorship soon as his RP be issued?

Kit... you can ask your cousin to check with the travel agencies here in Doha.. or hotels.. they provide visit visa..

Thats the best & easy way since you have some one here..

Thank you very much for the info sunilsadanandan..I am thinking maybe it will cost me lesser if I will acquire a visit visa from saudi but if the Embassy in KSA will not give me visa then I'll have to go home to philippines because that is my exit visa and there I will apply, what will be the requirements for visit visa to qatar and its cost?thank you

Kit.. the only way to visit now to Qatar is you can apply through the Embassy in KSA.. since you dont have 6 month validity.. If they approve the visit visa then you can.. or else no way out..

And also depends upon ur visa designation.

family visit visa is renewable up to 6 months only...while family visa/Family Residence(RP)is renewable as long as your husband's Working visa is valid...

thank you chevydjak for the advice, but anyways, i will just wait until he gets his RP. Im sure they will not do that, same thing as when he got here in abu dhabi.

Can i ask another question? what is the difference between a Family Visit Visa from an RP? we want a visa that will enable me to stay with him for as long as he's in qatar.

yes...as soon as he acquire his RP he can apply for a family visit visa for you...

Why don't you ask the company of your husband to give you a business visa instead... that's a 3 month visa :)

thanks for the response. if thats the case, i have no choice but to come home first then just wait for my husband to sponsor for my visa. Can he applies for a visa soon as his RP be issued?

does your sister has a husband here? If none, I don't think so... one of the main requirements of family visit visa is the marriage certificate of the sponsor.
