Am OGINGWA EMMANUEL, Ugandan. Qatar labour law 18 of 2020 and Qatar labour law 19 of2020 allow employees to switch companies. Am Working with Al Sraiya Security Services(SSS). We are 12 of us , over two times Min.ADLSA has sent to us messages through the electronic Notification System approving to change job from SSS to new company. And all over a sudden we get messages that approvals to change from SSS to another company are cancelled!!!. We went to Min.ADLSA and they said it is our company causing cancellation of our approvals to change job. We had meeting with SSS gave our resignation. HR & general Project manager at office they denied cancellation of our approvals. Other people from other companies are free changing and many have started working with new company. The person I did with interview got message and now is in training with new company but ours from SSS are being approved and within hours are cancelled over two times. This is forced labour from SSS, is it illegal to change jobs in Qatar when you are working with SSS. Because company which what's to hire us said you SSS employees amongst all people am recruiting you are the only one being cancelled even when have been approved already to change jobs.

I need your help, how can I /we escape this forced labour from SSS. And get our rights freedom to change jobs just like other employees. Because when we went to office the reception even told us you are not the first whose messages from Min.ADLSA approving to change to be cancelled! Even drives at the office over 10 of them Indians they kept on rejecting theirs approvals until they got frustrated and window of recruitment of their new company which they wanted to join got closed and lost hope, got frustrated. Now they are still working with company.

Kindly advise me/us on what to do, because we really need to change jobs

Step by step

1. Get the telephone numbers and name of your company's Manager and the Mandoob (Representative). Also note the full name of company and their location. Take a copy of your passport with you.

2. Go to the Labor department located on Main Al Attiya Road, near to street 13. Most of the taxi people know about this location.

3. At the reception, they will give you a complaint form, fill up that, then look for a meeting with one of the labor inspectors who are always sitting there. Give your complaint to him and tell him the story.

4. The inspector may telephone to your mandoob or HR manager for his reply, and then he would ask your company to give you the salary and NOC or Exit permit.
