how many times visit visa can be extended

i came in qatar november 2011 on visit visa and since then i have been on visit visa ,this s my 6 th month so can i extend for more months or i need to exit n re enter?

Generally, you can extend Visit visa for 6 months. One more month on special request and another month, if you are able to convince them.
So max 7-8 months.

yes. you can extend your stay one more month, providing that you submit a valid air ticket along with your extention application.
I did that for my son just last week
It is not possible generally to stay for more than 6 months..But if your luck permits, you can get a week or a month extension on your request to them...try it!
