My Dear friends, I have been working in this company last 6 months. Now I need to resign from the job and need to return the country because my parents are not well and they need my presence. My contract is one year and company sponsored me from my home country and provided air ticket fare. I gived the resignation and told them I am ready work notice period for 1 month. But they told me inorder to give Exit visa i need to pay the RP cost and air ticket fee and other expenses. RP expense and air ticket fare is only 2000. But they telling me to give 5000QR. What can I DO?

My remaining pending months is 6 months. After 6 months they need to spend 1300 riayls for RP. I alreadty worked 6 months. And my company not giving me return ticket. I Came here with company air ticket it cost only near 600 Qriyals. So I need to pay the company only 1500 or less amount

Are you crazy?? Who is issuing an RP month by month?? The fee is applied for the entire process at once, which is QR 1600 for 1-year RP! What are they gonna do with the rest of YOUR RP?? To apply it to another employee?.. omg, what a weird people!!

And it can NOT be the airfare from India to Qatar and back at QR 550, unless it’s by Riksha, not by the airplane!

Who told you that your RP and ticket was QR2000 only?? How did you calculate it???

Government fee of RP for 1 year is QR1600 (300- work visa, 100 – labour stamp, 100 – medical commission, 1100 – RP). So the rest is QR 400. Well, I don’t think, that to bring you here from India and to send back there costs only QR400.. It is at least about 3200-3500, may be even more. So your employer is rather loyal to you. They don’t count the expenses for your recruitment, which could be pretty much high as well…

Be happy it’s only 5000, pay it and go back to your parents.

Your choice: pick one:

Pay 5000.

Keep working with them.

Call labor dept, prove that the costs are 2000, wait for a few months.
