LEGAL COUPLE NOT ALLOWED TO STAY TOGETHER
By aldenalden •
Hi Id like to ask. Is it really a rule that legal couple are still not allowed to stay as live-out by their employer because they are under the sponsorship and accommodation. I'd ask a permission to at least 3-4 days per week i will leave with my husband that just came now. And they told me it is not allowed. Please can someone help me if I can report or give me a proof that this is still allowed and they don't need to make restrictions for this. Thanks!
What possible things i can say so they can be convinced? Thanks britexpat
There is no labour law because it all depends on the contract you signed. If you agreed to company provided housing, then it is difficult to change. However, if you talk to HR and explain your circumstances, you may get an exception.
so there's no labor law for this? sad to hear :(
You can ask and see what the reponse is. Most companies will not agree since they are paying for the building providing the accomodation already and and will incurr extra costs.
Hi, just in case we ask about the housing and transportation allowance and these not been granted to us. Can we complain? Im now writing a letter. But we already asked my husband's company and they told me they will not grant him allowance and the leave out thing is still subject for approval.
Make a formal written request to your HR department, looking for their yes or no in WRITING. That would allow you to explore other alternatives then.
Well, obviously the sponsor made this "Rule".
There is no such kind of rule...a husband and wife is allowed to stay together...do not listen them..stay where your husband his
I would not stay a single day in this country if they wouldn't allow me to live with my wife!
Then these morons shouldn't hire married women!
Live-in Maids are not allowed to stay outside. What will happen if you get pregnant. surely employer doesn't want all the hassle & legal implications associated with it.
What a moron country Qatar would be if legally married people could not live together. Unbelievable!!
You should go to both, the Human Rights office AND to your embassy!
Does someone check whether you are in your apartment or not ?
Is there anything stated in your contract ?
If it is not in your contract, then it is bulls.h.i.t.!
