First you must ask yourself why did you choose Qatar. Did you pick the name out of a hat or do you like countries with names that begin with Q??
Qatar is not immune to the world recession and turning up without a job is asking for trouble as its expensive to live here.
1 bed flat on your own in a nice area of town, (think Ealing) at least 1000 pounds a month, probably 1500. Want to share a flat with someone in an ok area of town, (think Hounslow) then maybe 600 pounds a month. Share a room with someone, (think Feltham) maybe 200 - 300 pounds a month.
Food, expensive. Yes more expensive than London.
Want a drink? Take out a second mortgage before you come.
Airfares? No easyjet, just very expensive Qatar Airways.
Things to do? If you are single they will not let you in the shopping malls or souks at the weekends but you can roam around the small pieces of grass with millions of others....
Yes first of all never write in Capitals as it is considered shouting. Cost of living is actually more expensive in many ways compared to London. Also the package offered will depend the passport you hold.. So do your research before committing yourself here..Not so easy..
Also, pls stop "yelling" all capital letters is considered shouting on the internet. Sometimes it's easier not to change cases but it's distracting for the reader - hope this helps.
Not recommended to come BEFORE you have a job if only because of visa restrictions.
Don't know if you can qualify for a visit visa on arrival (easiest and depends on your passport) but why come to an expensive country with no prospects or contacts and HOPE you'll land a decent job.
There are better benefits (salary, tickets, housing etc) if you're hired out of country.
Do some research before you find yourself in difficulty here.
