New born's visa

Hi Guys! My wife is expecting our first and I am doing my homework as the baby will be born in Doha. I have phoned the SA Embassy and understand a South African birth certificate and passport takes up to 6 months. Is it possible to use a temporary passport for the baby that only takes 5 days to get, to use to register the baby here as a residents and get a visa so that the baby can get an exit permit? The reason is that we want to baptize the baby in South Africa and organise plane tickets and more and if the passport takes 6 months we will not be able to go in the school holidays next year. Any advise will be appreciated!

best way to add new born in either passport(mother /father)This is totally up to your country's laws.In this case child will have same passport number where added and immigration will stamp separate rp on passport. you can go and come with child any time but naturally child can not travel alone. then you can get passport for new born at suitable time and transfer rp to new separate passport.

go to immigration after you settle the docs from the health office center.

There is one possiblity you get baby birth registration and apply for vias on mother passport basis and get stamped on same mother passport, same practice was doing before, now check with immegration might be changed the regulations.
