New Sponsorship Law

I have read in numerous articles that the sponsorship laws have changed and that women can now sponsor their husbands on their residence permit. Does anybody know which official source I can check this out with? I don't exactly want to turn up in Qatar and find the articles were incorrect.
My wife has been offered a job and i'm still hoping to get one before she starts. Is it true that you can work and change jobs, without a NOC, on a sponsored residence permit?
If anybody knows the facts or has experience themselves it would be appreciated.
I am QP's first woman engineer for the Oil & Gas Major Capital Projects Department. I joined in September'10 and my husband was able to accompany me. He then had to to go through his residency formalities like anyone else, once mine was approved. He is also allowed to work if he so chooses. But then there are other adjustments to overall benefits and sponsorship status which would need to be processed. It is not a difficult process to make the adjustments.

it is extremely diffcult for husband to get sponsored by his wife. First, it depends on the company status. Then, wife should be on the senior level in the company, her salary should meet ceratin requirements. even with all this, such cases are entire prerogative of the authorities, it's not resolved by default, but rather as an exception. You will NEVER know the outcome of your application unless you apply. Every case is different.
and it's not really new. it is existing few years, but rather rarely used.
A woman can sponsor her KID and HUSBAND if she meets all the necessary requirements set by the immigration department..

Interesting.....so, scenario. Lets say I work in a company and i am unhappy-want to leave the company but dont want to leave Qatar - there is a lot of it about!! My wife is in Qatar on my sponsorship but doesnt work. My wife is offered a job at salary QR7500 which she accepts - may I then resign my job, go under her sponsorship and apply for alternative employment in Qatar under HER sponsorship??

Yes Wife sponsorship is there in qatar but her salary should be in accordance to sponsor her husband.
Once you are in wife sponsorship then you can switch jobs but she cant.
If you get job before her & call her into your sponsorship then she can switch jobs but then you cant.
According to qatar law once(first time) you join a company in qatar & enter qatar then you cant leave the company for minimum 2 yrs & after that also you need NOC/ release from the company.
