No Employment Cotract

i am in singapore right now. i applied thru agency here and found me a job for qatar. my soon-to-be employer in qatar gives intent to hire me. i will be back to phils. end of august. my employer in qatar told me to send a copy of may passport and education certificate to provide me a business visa and he said upon coming to qatar, it will turned out to resident visa. the thing is, i wanted a employment contract before i leave phils., he only gave me job offer. we usually receive contract first signed by both parties from the origin of hiring, which is standard in hiring from overseas.

but my employer said, the contract will be ready as soon as i landed in qatar. my worry is what if the job offer which they sent earlier, is different from the contract, say job offer is qr7500 and when i landed, its not qr7500 at all... i am not sure of these, but i found it risky, please advise..

For me also, only job offer I got. But I know the director of the company personally. So I think problems wont arise.

you have to make sure of the stability of the company if ts a small time its scary to go here w/o signing those contracts but if its a big multi-nalitional company then its ok, in our company we usually give on ly the job offer then the contarct signing upoon her/his first day at work

jeant7_arch...Since he is offering you Business Visa it is obvious he does not have Resident Visa.

The Employment Contract is not necessary for Business Visa as the visa is for the purpose of doing business.

Once you are here he could coerce you to sign for any salary or he could even maltreat you. Many people fall for such traps.

But its ok if you know the person properly and you have friends or relatives to guide you here.

If you are still unsure just book a return ticket just in case.....But Does Business Visa Need exit permit from your employer? I dont know about that. Still if you have the ticket you could go to the embassy and tell your story.

You should not even consider coming here without three signed contracts. Make sure you get three papers:

An Arabic Version

A translated Version

A version for the Ministry of Labor.

The Labor Law requires contracts being written in Arabic. The Labor Law also requires a copy to be sent to the Ministry.

If you have a dispute with the employer the Arabic Version will be the basis for a trial.

i wonder why they refuse to give u a copy of contract. if u get hired from the Phils, they have to send your contract before you can pass government procedures.

Dont come here before signing the employment contract, if both parties not signing anything, your employer can backtracking whatever being promised and said to you.
