passport problem

hi guys,

my husband just went home to phils last may 29, we just knew that he needs to renew his passport before he goes back here in Qatar. His passport expires on august yet and he was told he needs to renew it or else he can't fly back here in Qatar.

Any idea on this? They said it's an international rule. problem is in our country, it takes a 15 days or a month for the renewal process. He's booked on June 19 back here.

ah, i guess those people want to ask something from your husband coz he's going abroad, u know, monetary things. try to ask somebody from a travel agency in our country, they know this too well.

got less than 6 months validity then that is true ... he won't be able to go back. I don't know why it would take 15 days or a month to renew a passport ... What is about the new passport? He can't get that one?

He got no option but to delay his trip if the passport is not yet renewed, do you think that there is another option?

If he has a valid Qatari residency visa in his current passport then I cannot see any problem. The 'six month' rule applies to non Qatari residents as far as I am aware. He can renew his passport at the Phils Embassy in Doha and then transfer his residency visa to his new passport.

If you'll gonna renew it thru DHL or 2GO then probably it will take 2 weeks, but if he will renew it by himself then it will take less than a week.

are u sure about that 15-day renewal?

I got my pasport in less than a week, and that's a new one. Renewal takes shorter than that

he really needs to renew it back in the phils because policy is you need to have at least 6 months valid passport whenever you go out of the country, i think he needs to rebook his ticket and apply for expedited passport renewal
