Passport/Visa issue

I recently got offered a job in qatar, but being on a tourist visa I had to take a visa run to dubai in the mean time whilst they sort out my permanent visa.

The company seem to have done something because when I returned from Dubai, passport control said I had a 3 month visa already so I didn't need to get a 1 month visa on arrival like I normally do.

I looked at the visa stamp a few days later, and it said underneath it: "Bearer to approach the specialized authorities within seven working days from the date of entry"

Now I informed the company about this and they are still not sure whats happened because they said the visa is still being processed? I came into Saturday so I only have until maybe saturday or sunday to "approach the special authorities"? Who are the special authorities? What do they want? Should I leave it to the company to sort out or should I go to immigration and try to sort it out myself before the 7 working days run out?
