It seems th entire process of getting a PCC from India will take 3-4 weeks.

has someone else tried getting one on their own or any agents who would help in getting it done....earlier.

I have some doubt regarding the longivity of a PCC. I was told that once taken it is valid for six (6) months only.

It is the duty of PP office to issue you a PCC, it is their job. (check PP website online). The PCC once issued is valid for 5 years. After that you have to go thru all the hassle once again. Better get an agent to do this job. This has everything to do with the money you are paying and has nothing to do with the pending etc cases against you. Even if you murder somebody in front of him, he will manage to issue you a PCC within 3 working days, I bet!!!!!

seemanoj PCC is same thing as required when you apply for a Passport.

The police have to verify you & do a background check so that you dont have any cases pending against you. It is only then the Passport is issued to you.

Only this time you have to get it in written letter that you are in the clear. Usually from the main police station in your area.

If you go through the proper channel you could take long. Go through some agents or the local Police guy in your area.

thanks team....I will try to find a "well wisher" who can speed up the process. My problem is I work in Chennai and my passport was issued from Mumbai...so I guees I will have to visit the Mumbai PP office, right?

PCC is a requirement for Qatari job (Esp if you are having an offer from QP). In India if you go thru proper channel it may take a month or so to get PCC. But there are always 'well wishers' so don't worry. Find one from PP office itself, pay him the amount demanded and get it within 3 working days.

Dear friend,

I applied for PCC from India and got the same day itself. After that I approached one agent and he took Rs1400/- and he returned the attested PCC within 15 days. It will take 15 to 20 days to complete the process. If we approach agencies to obtain PCC from Passport office it will take 3 to 4 days to get the PCC from there.

I have got an offer...so I thought I should be ready with the PCC, to avoid delays. is it necessary to get one for a Qatari job visa..?

seemanoj ...you are in India or Qatar?

If in qatar the process is simple.

At the Embassy Fill the PCC-request form + your passport copy & 2Photos. + fees.

After 7 days they issue the PCC.

Dont ask questions except from the Enquiry Counter ask for the form. If they think you are unaware of the rules they will ask you to get it from India The guy in front of me (in queue) was asked to get it from India.
