Penalty for overstaying after90day extension

Hi everyone. I would like to know how much is the penalty for overstaying after 90 days extension of not renewing visa/work permit. Please note that my visa/work permit was cancelled last week and I have until 7 days (until 26 June 2010) allowance to exit Qatar.

Is it QAR 10/day or QAR 10,000?

Thank you for your replies.

Hi yv2r, the reason they cancelled my visa is because i resigned. The reason why they didn't renew within the 90 days grace period is I don't know. It is funny that the 7 days cancellation allowance and the end of the 90 day expiry extension is the same date which is June 26.

Regarding what you have said that I will have a bad record of overstaying and they will see it if I decided to return here, I think it is a little importance for me that I have such a minor violation. Thanks anyway for your insight.

By the way, do you know if it is QAR 10/day or up to QAR 10,000?

Thanks.

as per your statementyour visa is not renewed and it is cancelled means your sponser wants you to go out of the country,so you have 7 days to leave the country.

If your sponser has not renewed your visa then you pay only limited amount of fine,if it is cancelled means must leave.

Regarding your next visa from UAE no authorities here will consider it, if you get with in 7 days you are lucky other wise you should select where you can go,but you can not stay here without paying penalty.

If you overstay here and you are booked case for over stay here, lifelong you will have a remark, every time you fillup a forum for entry there you must mention of overstay and it will be blackspot.

I am telling general little knowledge and definitely not advising as it is your life and future, think twice and take decession. All the best.

Hi there, I sent an e-mail to the author of the article but I receive a reciepient error hehehe. You're right maybe it's an April Fools day :)

From what I understand the fine is UP TO QAR 10,000.

If you have 5 days overstaying after the 3 month extension of the RP expiry, you will just have to pay QAR 50.

Thanks again.

@NUMLOCKER:

"Qatar passes tough new laws on work visas"

by Joanna Hartley

on Wednesday, 01 April 2009 ?(fool day?):)

"... If a worker is found without a valid RP or if he fails to get the RP renewed within 90 days after its expiry, he will be fined up to QR10,000. "

plus 10 QR/ each overstaying day

For example:

- 93 overstaying days x 10 QR = 930QR + 10.000 QR fine!

MABROUK!

than better to leave the country, no work permit would bring burden to pay fine, ... follow the rule and leave as early as possible...

Ask rezymalik. He knows everything.

It's confusing because there is no reliable reference if it's QAR10,000 or just QAR/day after the 7 days allowance after cancellation of visa/permit OR 90 days extension after visa/permit extension.

The reason why I'm asking is I want to stay here while I'm waitng for my UAE working visa instead of waiting it at my home country which is very far from here. I may receive the UAE working visa next week which is after the 90 days extension and after 7 days exit allowance.

Please advise. Thank you.
