Penalty of Permanent VISA Processing

Dear folks,
I am new to this forum but i hope you can help me.My wife's visit visa (on her 7th month) expired last July 19, 2012 and last July 24, 2012 her application for permanent visa was approved already.Meaning her visa is for Ready for Printing.I went to immigration this morning (July 26 2012) and the lady there (in the immigration counter) told me I have to pay a penalty of 1200QAR. I was really really surprised & shocked :(... .OKAY that's fine..I was supposed to pay for the penalty but the lady on the counter did not accept my payment. She told me something like "APPLICATION" . I admit i did get what she meant by this word "APPLICATION" .. though i would admit there's always a language barrier but i could not understand Madam was saying? Is there anybody knows about the procedure of paying penalty, printing of visa and transferring from visit to permanent visa? Are there any forms involved in those i mentioned procedure? I am worried very much because my penalty is getting bigger everyday. What would be the best thing to do. In my case when will the penalty (I heard 200 QAR per) STOPS. DO i have to apply for my wife extension considering that her permanent visa application (printing, transferring, medical, finger printing) is still ongoing. Please advise us.. thanks in advance

What is the visa number you used is it the visa in the visit visa or residence visa? Sometimes it is the reason they cannot read because of the visa number. If you check in internet it is automatically in their system and proceed in the finger printing.

Dearest folks,

Any idea regarding the latest requirements in applying for a labor card. My wife needs this card before she can start with her new job. Once all requirements are complete, can we ask her incoming company to do the processing?

thanks a lot

Medical for resident visa is different with the extension. I'm just finished with the Medical for Resident Permit. But they took me blood exam only, but xray not yet needed because the validity of xray is 6 months and my last xray is just 4 months only so they did not repeat the xray.

Simple, fillup the application form for extension and submit at First Floor of Gate no:1. They will give 1 month extn. Some time they might ask for the return ticket.

Hi all,

I heard Ivalerio mentioned his wife's visit visa was on the 7th month. Please can someone tell me the maximum extension period for visit visa. I used to think its 6 months. My family are on visit and I still have some issues in getting them residence visa.

Please advise on how to extend beyond 6 months if possible.

Don't worry pal. What the lady meant was there is an on going application process for family residence visa for your wife. Once the visa is under process and already approved as you mentioned you don't need to pay penalty. Check their website and if the visa is ready for printing just go to Immigration and pay the visa fee.
