ppd test
hi everyone please help me, need your advice..i have taken an x-ray twice after 2 days of waiting the result i 've got a msg that requesting me to see the nursing section. i had a ppd test yesterday., now the site of injection is red and swelling with a measurement of almost 2 cm, is this positive or negative? I am very worried that i will get a positive result and wont have a chance to obtain working RP. I had a history of acute pneumonia 4 years ago, as far as i know thats not serious decease. could this desease turn to be a TB?
my husband and i are very worried about my medical result... please any one can help me with my problem, i need an advice, its been how many days i have a sleepless night to think of this problem.
Good day to all.
I have just had my PPD test yesterday, and this morning I observed a very slight swelling. My next appointment with the clinic is in two days more. But anticipating the worst, in case the finding is positive (but not active), would I be required to undergo a medication? If so, how long woulf it take? I am under a family residence visit visa which is not expiring anytime soon. Could I have my medication in Qatar or would I be sent back home until I am able to obtain medical clearance?
Thank you for your time.
i gt it from rumaila successfully :)

I am worried!!! :O
i think I will be positive on the PPD test because it is swelling and has 15 mm measurement,tommorow i need to go back to medcom for the result, is there any remedies to make the swell disappear or make it smaller?Im very scared that they wil reject my RP application?my husband is here and i wanted to stay with him, if my medical will not be ok i will be very sad for that. The first time i came here with family visit last year my medical was ok, i cant understand why i'm having a problem with my medical now .

Do u have a history of TB? is there any scar in ur lungs?
if u have...
And if u have applied the visa for a working permit there may be a slight doubt abt it. I am very sorry.
But still u can come here with a visit visa for 6 mopnths or ur husbond can try for a family VISA and let u work.
for these visits this wil not effect though they do all again.
All the best
The reaction will take 48 - 72 hours to develop. The results of the test depend on the size of the skin reaction and on the person being tested.
A small reaction (5 mm of firm swelling at the site) is considered to be positive in people:
* Who have HIV
* Who are taking steroid therapy
* Who have been in close contact with a person who has active TB
Larger reactions (greater than or equal to 10 mm) are considered positive in:
* People with diabetes or kidney failure
* Health care workers
* Injection drug users
In people with no known risks for TB, a positive reaction means there is 15 mm or more of firm swelling at the site.
Have your doctor interpret the results.
Be calm and cool, if they have taken second time X-ray means there is something wrong, but still they are not sure, so wait and regarding redness, that may be due to some allergic reaction or so, but i am not a doctor to advise u on anything, this is just my opinion, better to consult a doctor.
