One my collegue had the same problem, he was not able to get an exit permit from company sponsor since he has not updated his new passport with the company HR system.

He was adviced to go directly to emmigration office in Al Wakra to update his new passport with the RP. He was having valid RP in his old passport.

He said within 10 minutes they processed and returned his new passport stamped with RP.

Nothing to worry man.. Go to any of the immigration counters, fill up the form, Give both the passports to the officer on counter, pay QR.50. He will transfer your RP to the new passport. If you are already in India; staple both passport together and travel. If you are in Qatar, better transfer the RP to the new passport.

Happy journey...

It is NOT a problem. Get your new passport. Somewhere in the NEW passport, there will be a mention of the OLD passport number. Fill up the RP renewal form with the NEW passport number. Go to any of the renewal centres with both passports. MoI staff will update their databank and issue the same RP with the new passport number on it. The validity of the RP shall remain the same as the earlier RP. As far as I remember, I was NOT charged for the change in passport. Hope this helps!

you can still use the old passport as long as your embassy did not cancelled the old one and it is still valid once you return to doha or the best thing to do is go to immigration so that your visa will be transfered to your new passport. it will only take less than an hour for the transfer

You should have valid visa stamped on new passport to come back. do that first before you go on leave.
