If she is out of the country, he won't have her passport, so he can't renew the visa.

Yes Yes, smarty and all mighty Nanoflim...doggy...not so law abiding citizen. Lets all get along! Dun argue, if you want the correct process, just go to immigration at Mesameer and clear it out. Sometimes, rules do change without notice. Just to share, I have renewed my maid's visa just in Dec 2015. Process was simple, I took her passport and RP, told them I want to renew, they said pay QAR 500 through the card and that was it, quick 15 minutes and I was done. They put the new sticker on her passport and issued the RP Card. Having said this, you may need to get your maid to send your passport via DHL or FEDEX to get it renewed.

they dont drag because they are at home and for renewing a sponsor goes with her "passport". And you either talk about ur maid or a qatari maid or be sure.

Ok Nanofilm, you can be the smarty of the QL...Be blessed that you don't know the traffic rules and abiding by the law!

But as I informed the poster on my previous comment, better to check with immigration at Mesameer. And my comment still stand, where I have renewed by maid's visa without her presence being needed. Do you see Qatari or other expats dragging their maid to immigration to renew their visa? If you see them, please point me out! Enough said!

No, I renewed my maid's visa without her being present. So there! And this is a genuine comment!

Her presence is required why because as per new rule the sticker will be in the passport and if not passport how will you process it. so basically her presence is must.

Yes you can, you need to go to the Immigration Dept at Mesameer Abu Hamour, but you need her passport or RP, I am not sure if they take copies, better ask them there if you can make a quick visit. Renewal for 1 year will cost you QAR 500, before, but I heard they increased fees. Please go and check with immigration at Mesameer and find out more.
